Oleon is in early access
It's early access, it's young, and it will occasionally break. Please don't rely on it for anything where a missed message costs you money - not yet.
What Oleon does
Oleon connects your WhatsApp Business number to an assistant that can reply to your customers. You bring the WhatsApp account; we provide the software that talks to it.
Your account
You're responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your sign-in details to yourself. Tell us if you think someone else has got in.
Your WhatsApp account stays yours
Connecting to Oleon grants us permission to send and receive messages on your behalf. It doesn't transfer ownership of anything. Your WhatsApp Business account, your phone number and your customer relationships remain entirely yours, and you can revoke our access at any time from your Meta business settings.
Meta's rules apply too
WhatsApp is Meta's. Using Oleon means you also have to follow Meta's WhatsApp Business Terms and messaging policies - including the rules about what you may send and who you may send it to. If Meta suspends your account for breaking their rules, we can't undo that.
YouTube and Google's rules apply too
If you connect a YouTube channel, Oleon's YouTube features use YouTube API Services. Using them means you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service and are bound by the Google Privacy Policy. Oleon only accesses the channel you connect, to read and reply to comments on your own videos. You can revoke our access to your Google account at any time from your Google security settings, and the same rules apply to any Facebook Page or Instagram account you connect through Meta.
What your package counts
A package is sold in active users. One active user is one person who messaged you during the month, and covers up to 100 messages from that person. Message 101 from the same person counts as a second active user, message 201 as a third, and so on. The count resets at the start of each month, except on the free Trial, whose allowance is one-off rather than monthly.
- Only messages your customers send you are counted. Replies, whether written by the assistant or typed by your team, are not.
- On WhatsApp a person is their phone number. On your website a person is their browser session, so the same customer returning on a different device or browser, or after clearing their browser data, is counted as another active user. There is no reliable way to recognise a website visitor across devices without asking them to sign in.
- AI replies are counted separately and are not part of the active user allowance. Every package includes 100 AI replies a month, shared between the Playground and live conversations, plus 25 bot drafts and 5 MB of knowledge processing. These reset on the 1st. When the AI allowance is used up the assistant stops generating answers and falls back to your handover message until the next month, or until more is added to your account.
- The figures shown on your Billing screen are the ones we bill from.
What you agree not to do
- Send spam, or message people who haven't agreed to hear from you.
- Use Oleon to deceive people or pretend to be someone else.
- Break the law with it, or use it to harm anyone.
- Try to break into it, or into anyone else's account.
The assistant makes mistakes
It answers automatically, and it will sometimes get things wrong. What it says to your customers is published under your business name and is your responsibility, so test it before you point real customers at it, and keep an eye on it afterwards. That's why the Chat page exists.
No promises about uptime
This is early access software provided as-is. We don't promise it will be available, that it will answer correctly, or that messages will arrive. Meta's temporary access tokens expire after 24 hours, which will silence your assistant until you replace them - that's Meta's design, not a fault in ours, and we tell you about it in the app.
To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for business lost through Oleon being unavailable or answering badly.
Ending it
Stop whenever you like - sign out and revoke access in Meta, and it's done. We may suspend accounts that break these terms or put our Meta access at risk.
Changes
These terms will change as the product grows up. Material changes get announced in the app rather than quietly edited in here.
